Executive Officer Kane was impregnated by a parasitic life form discovered within an ancient derelict space craft found on the planet's surface. The \u003cem\u003eNostromo\u003c\/em\u003e was destroyed during the incident and all of its crew were killed by the Xenomorph, except for Ellen Ripley who managed to escape on an emergency vessel and to ultimately eject the Xenomorph.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHowever, the Xenomorph would be recovered from the \u003cem\u003eNostromo's\u003c\/em\u003e wreckage by Weyland-Yutani twenty years later and experimented on at the \u003cem\u003eRenaissance\u003c\/em\u003e station, where a substance known as Z-01 was created from the Xenomorph under the supervision of the synthetic Rook to better suit mankind for the dangers of space colonization.
